NSL Championship Match Set

In a closely contested Final Four match up, Morigi 1, Center on the Hill, scored a big upset by defeating reigning 3 time NSL champion the SAS Strikers. SAS scored first topping Morigi by 12 pins in the first match but faltered down the stretch as Morigi outscored SAS by 45 pins in the second match. The margin of victory was 23 pins. Warner Wisyanski led Morigi with games of 300 and 299. Coach Pat Morigi chipped in with a 300 game. William Artis and Rick Swaney were instrumental in the win. Wii bowler of the year, Joe Riccobene, and wii bowling partner Duane Webster led Oris Martin's SAS Strikers with a 300 game each.

In the second match of the NSL Final Four, The Crushers from Cedar Crest Village crushed the Alley Oops from Santa Clarita Senior Center, Santa Clarita, CA, easily winning both matches by 430 pins. The powerful Crushers were led by old reliable Lily Berenbroick who scored a pair of 300 games and coach Tony di Filippo who had a season high series of 599 (300 and 299). Ever present Bill Sperry added another 300 game for the Crushers whose pin total of 2,365 is the highest recorded series in the four seasons of NSL play.

An NSL shout out to the SAS Strikers for their great run through 4 seasons of NSL play. We will miss Coach Martin and her team of talented Wii Bowlers in the playoffs.

A second shout out to Bernie Katz's Santa Clarita team for making a long run during the 4th season. Bernie's Alley Oops team improved every week defeating some very worthy opponents only to falter against a very strong Crusher team.

Swan Lakers - NSL (MD 2) Champions

The first ever NSL Master Division 2 Championship (MD 2) went to The Swan Lakers,
Hightstown, NJ, coached by Chris Harmon, as they totaled 1,637 pins. The Lakers proved to strong for the competition as they easily defeated second place finisher, the Northwest Vintage Vikings (1,483), 3rd place finisher the Meadow Lakers (1,455) and 4th place finisher, Wii Four (1,423).

MASTER DIVISION 1 CHAMPIONS - Striking Seniors 2

Striking Seniors 2 from Kanab Senior Center, Kanab Ut, coached by Rene Pace, captured the first ever NSL Master Division 1 Championship knocking down 1,776 pins on their way to defeating the Pickle Rollers from Mt. Olive Care and Rehab, Mt. Olive, NC (1,697), Covenant Village of Turlock, Turlock, CA (1,653) and Wii Are the Champions, Sherrie Whitman's, Lutheran Life Villages, Ft. Wayne, IN. The Striking Seniors used a balanced attack featuring 7 of 8 games over 200.

Master Division 1 (MD 1) was contested by 38 teams after finishing league play in the NSL - National Senior League. First round wii bowling results featured the 38 teams vying for round 2 by finishing in the top 12 teams of the first playoff round. The 12 teams played down to 4 final playoff slots. Striking Seniors 2 reign as 2011 NSL Spring Champions!

NSL Championships - The Final Four

Oris Martin's SAS Strikers, Boca Raton, FL, 3 time NSL Champions, edged Linda Umbel's, In Our Prime, Emmittsburg, MD by 11 pins. After dropping the first game by 9 pins, SAS rallied to win the second match by 20 pins to secure a spot in the Final Four. Morigi, Belle Vernon, PA, the hottest team in the NSL advanced by using the NSL tie breaker to defeat Karen Maxin's UnbeWiivables in the first game and then captured the second match to advance setting up a matchup against SAS. Bernie Katz's, Alley Oops from Santa Clarita, CA, scored the most pins of the 4 matches in defeating the Happy Strikers from LaGrange, Ga. and Tony de Flippo's, Crushers, Pompton, NJ, wii bowled past Pin Mii from Atlanta, Ga.

Wii bowlers were at their best as 6 bowlers were perfect in both games - Lily Berenbroick (Crushers), Evelyn Kelly (Happy Strikers) , Joe Riccobene (SAS), Stephaine Wilson and David Hinkle (Pin Mii) and Bob Brigham (UnbeWiivables). Seven other wii bowlers missed on the last ball and ended with 299.

Wii Bowling - Four MD 2 Teams Advance to Finals

The NSL's Master Division 2 Championship is set. Four teams advanced from a 14 team field. Led by the Meadow Lakers (1,515) other teams making the finals are the NW Vintage Vikings (1,438), the Swan Lakers (1,418) and Wii Four (1,394) who qualified via the NSL tiebreaker - most strikes - edging past the Gynnedd Pin Busters. Other teams in order of finish - Covenant Village of Cromwell (1,286), Gwinnett Super Stars (1,273), Valley Rollers (1,266), Parc Alpharetta 3 (1,147), Pin Queens (1,141), The Bowling Stones (1,103), Over the Hill Gang (1,022) and The Girls (941). The Final Four teams must play their matches by Thursday, April 21st 9PM EST and e-mail scores to dennis@nslgames.com. Teams play 2 matches. The highest pin total wins. Wii Bowling - Master Division 1 (MD 1) Teams Move to Final Four

The Striking Senior's from Kanab Senior Center, Kanab, UT led the way as 12 teams competed for the final 4 spots on the way to the NSL's Master Division 1 (MD 1) Championship. Coach Rene Pace's team scored 1,742 pins leading the way over 2nd place, Wii Are the Champions (1,680 pins), 3rd place, CVOT Valley Strikers (1,645), and 4th place, Pickle Rollers (1,631). Following in order 5th - Phoenix Birds (1,561), 6th - Covenant Village of Cromwell (1,518), 7th - Ladies on a Roll (1,496), 8th - Powerballs (1,487), 9th - Tens Pins (1,465), 10th - IRE and Las Palmas Bombers, 12th - Pin Eaters (1,286). This is the first year for the Master Division 1 Playoffs designed to offer a chance to compete for a championship for those teams not placing in the top 64 of NSL league play. Wii Bowling - NSL Teams Move into Elite 8

The strongest of the NSL teams continued to dominate as the best teams thoughout league play advanced to the Elite 8. Big battles loom as the teams remaining are well balanced. Wii bowlers will have to maintain their high level play under the pressure of advancing to the Final Four. Match-ups include Morigi vs the UnbeWiivables, a contest to close to call. The SAS Strikers vs In Our Prime. The SAS Strikers are 3 time defending champions but have never had a tougher opponent than the high scoring team from Emmitsburg Senior Center. This one should be on ESPN! Dan Wooden's Happy Strikers vs Bernie Katz's Alley Oops team. Again too close to call. The Happy Strikers have quitely impressed throughout the year. This is a 'pick-em' matchup. The Crushers vs the Pin Mii's. Ollie Wooden's Pin Mii team will have to be at their best to upset Tony di Flippo's high scoring Crusher team. NSL Wii Bowlers continued their assualt on 300 games. NSL Playoffs - Sweet Sixteen Advance

Sixteen teams advanced in the Championship bracket of the NSL 2011 Spring League led by the defending champions, SAS Strikers, knocking down 2,290 pins and followed closely by Morigi 1 (2,272), In Our Prime (2,249), the UnbeWiivables (2,247) and the Happy Strikers. Eleven (11) players rolled 300 games including Joe Riccobene's (SAS Strikers) 600 series. Joining Joe -- wii bowling mate Duane Webster, two members of In Our Prime - Donald Duvall and Clarence Snyder, the Pin Mii's, David Hinkle, Bob Brigham (UnbeWiivables), Chris Forte (Eagles), hot rolling Warner Wisyanski (Morigi 1), ever present Ruthie Wildehide (Cougar Crawlers), the Crushers, Bill Sperry and Hazel Sellers of the Happy Strikers. Just missing out on the magic 300 game were Evelyn Kelly (Happy Strikers) at 299, Stephaine Wilson (Pin Mii's) at 299, Bob Spaulding (SAS Strikers) at 298 and newcomer Shirley Harry at 297 (WC Splitters). ROUND 1 - NSL MASTER DIVISION 2 (MD 2) RESULTS - SPRING 2011

Led by the NW Vintage Vikings the following teams advanced to the second round of the NSL MD 2 division - NW Vintage Vikings, Gwinnet Super Stars, Cromwell 2, Wii Four, Gwynned Pin Busters, Parc Alpharetta 3, Pinheads, Valley Rollers, Pin Queens, The Girls, Parker Place Bowling Stones, and the Over the Hill Gang. The Vikings total pin count was 1,409 to win by a hefty margin over second place finisher Gwinnet Super Stars whose pin count was 1,336. Scores ranged from 1,409 to the 12th place finisher, Over the Hill Gang, who knocked 'em down to a 1,134 count. ROUND 2 OF MD 2 MUST BE COMPLETED BY THURSDAY, APRIL 14, 9PM EST. Twenty Four (24) Wii Bowlers scored perfect games as teams picked up the pace in the first round. Warner Wisyanski (Morigi 1) scored a perfect 600. Week 7 - NSL Updates

Week 7 finished with a rash of 300 games as 13 wii bowlers hit the magic mark including Wii Bowlers of the Week - Vincent Thomas (Strikers) and Warner Wisyanski (Morigi 1) each bowling 2 perfect games. Other week 7 club members included - Sydelle Hirsch (Crushers), Stephaine Wilson (Pin Mii's), David Hinkle (Pin Mii's), Clarence "Moe" Snyder (In Our Prime), Hazel Sellers (Happy Strikers), Evelyn Kelly (Happy Strikers), Teri Shuman (Gutter Gang), Char Johnson (Gutter Gang), Barbara Matherne (Great Balls of Fire), Bob Brigham (Unbewiivables) and Lil Kepsel (Morigi 1). The Week 7 NSL Honorable Mention roster includes Joe Riccobene wii bowling a 289 and a 299 (SAS Strikers) and Evelyn Kelly a 299 to go with her 300 - a 599 series! Other who had a great week include Donnie Jordan - 299 (Strikers), Anne Badeaux - 289 (Wii Are Winners), Margaret Kinnard - a pair of 280's (In Our Prime), Ann Nguyen - 287 (Unbewiivables) and Jimmie Kennedy - 290 (Wii Rangers).
